Nylon coil zippers feature coiled zipper "teeth." They are coiled together rather than individual interlocking teeth like what can be found on other types of zippers. Sometimes these zippers are called self-healing zippers. Zippers with nylon coil teeth are great for taking curves, for example on a bag or tent, and are often preferred over metal zippers for applications that require the zipper to curve. The higher the gauge, the larger the zipper. #2 zippers are very lightweight, #10 zippers are very heavy duty.
